I ordered takeout from Edo Japan, and overall the food itself was totally fine. I’ve had their food before and I do like it, so this wasn’t really about the taste or the meal being bad. The issue was more with the packaging. The main box held up mostly okay, but one of the sauce cups leaked a little inside the bag, and by the time I got home the napkins were sticky. It wasn’t some huge disaster or anything, and the food was still edible, but it’s just one of those annoying things you don’t want to deal with when you’re grabbing takeout and expecting everything to be packed properly. I feel like for sauces especially, they really need to seal things tighter or use better lids. I’d still eat there again, but this takeout experience was just kind of frustrating. 3 stars this time...

First impression? The points add up fast, and the promos help a lot. I didn’t expect much at first, but it’s been a nice little bonus.

I like Edo Japan mostly because, you know, the hours are just easy to work around. I can stop in after work when I need something quick, and they’re usually still open. I checked the hours online before heading over and, yeah, they matched up fine, so no wasted trip. It’s a simple thing, but it actually makes a big difference for me.

Dropped by last week the place was really clean. The tables were wiped down, the floors looked good, and the counter area wasn’t messy at all. Even the washroom was decent, which I always notice. I think I just came at a bad time because it was a little hectic, but that’s just bad timing on my part. Overall, it definitely made sitting down to eat more comfortable.

A couple times the sushi or extra add-ons were sold out, which was annoying, well, not a huge deal, but still kind of frustrating when that’s what I wanted. Overall though, there’s usually enough to pick from, and the ordering process is easy.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous about how they’d handle my allergy, but they actually did a really solid job. I don’t love having to make a big deal out of it, but they listened and took it seriously, which I appreciated.

The chicken tasted fine, but it was a little on the dry side. The rice was decent, and the veggies were okay, though a bit softer than I usually like. I like Edo Japan because the menu has a little bit of everything, which is perfect when my mood keeps changing. Grabbed dinner from Edo Japan and it showed up sooner than I was planning for, which was a nice surprise. The driver had no trouble finding my place, and the food was still warm when I opened it up. Straightforward order, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. I’d order from them again

I end up going to Edo Japan a lot mainly because it’s just so convenient for me. It’s close to work, so I can pop in, grab something quick, and head home without making it a whole extra mission. after a long day I’m usually just thinking about getting home, changing into comfy clothes, and maybe pretending I’m going to fold laundry. So having a spot that’s right on my way is a big plus.

I’ve been here a bunch of times and the food always tastes the same in the best way. I’ve never had a bad visit, which makes me think they’re intentional about keeping things consistent and making sure people know what to expect.

Ordering on edojapan.com was easy enough, and the payment went through in maybe a minute or so. I used my card and didn’t have to redo anything, which is always a relief.
The only thing I’d say is the checkout could be a little clearer on mobile, but it still worked fine overall. Good experience, around 4 stars for me...
